A non-running vehicle does not automatically make removal difficult, but it does mean access information is especially important. A good pickup plan starts with where the car is sitting and how the truck can reach it.
Start with the exact location
Include the full address and describe where the vehicle is parked. Mention whether it is in an outdoor space, driveway, visitor parking area, repair shop, side yard or underground garage.
Condo and underground parking considerations
If the vehicle is at a condo, check the property’s pickup and visitor requirements. Mention clearance restrictions, loading zones, gate access, the parking level and any time window the building requires.
- ✓ Parking level or space number
- ✓ Maximum vehicle height or clearance
- ✓ Condo management or security requirements
- ✓ Best available pickup window
Describe the vehicle’s condition
Say whether the vehicle rolls, has flat tires, is missing wheels or keys, or has damage that affects access. The more complete the condition notes, the easier it is to plan the appropriate pickup approach.
Keep communication simple
Provide a phone number where you can be reached on pickup day. If someone else will meet the driver or manage building access, include that information before the time is confirmed.
